Beautiful day and gorgeous views of Presidentials and more from Starr King and just east of Waumbek summit. Trail really mashed potatoes half-way down - soft and collapsable - postholers made a mess of the trail. Very glad to have worn snowshoes car to car. Did not envy those without. Good luck for those of us who hit the midday sunshine window and got some sun and views at the top. Two weekends ago we saw a couple get engaged in the middle of Lonesome Lake; yesterday we were treated to a couple who both have 'This butt climbed Mt Washington' tattoed on their backends. No photos, though! Kestrel T=45 W=0 WC=45. |
