| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Breezy Point Road - VERY muddy last mile of the dirt road. Glad I still have mud/snow tires as traction control on my 4WD kept flashing!!! A mud pit. On the other hand, there was plenty of parking at the end of the road at 1pm when I got there - only a handful of cars there then including a Govt Truck and some type of Forest/Game Ranger at the trailhead. |

| Comments: |
I used a splitboard - excellent afternoon! I was kind of hoping to summit but was afraid things would freeze up when I got to the Glencliff Trail junction so I descended at that point - there were not views then and the wind had picked up. I have survival skied the Carriage Road before but this time, on the splitboard, it went pretty well. Not as easy as the guidebooks would suggest - the trail is very narrow most of the way so turns for speed control are confined but doable. Slushy spring snow but you can build up some speed. Lower couple miles tricky to figure out when to pole and when to carry the snowboard - finally just used the splitboard as skis - that's the easiest way for the rolling terrain at the bottom. A very fun day - saw lots of skiers.... |
