Comments: Stinkyfeet Bushwhack
We got the idea from a post by Stinkyfeet and thought it sounded interesting. It was!!
About 9/10 in on Priscilla Brook Tr we went down and crossed the brook. Bridges were very weak and worse coming back. The woods were as she described. Wide open. We went steeply up to the ridge and then it was moderate except for the last pitch. Woods were excellent and there was only a small patch of spruce near top that was a bit scrappy, but still pretty mild by bushwhack standards. We came out about 100 ft from summit of Waumbek. The snow was the issue today! It started soft and got softer. It was deep, heavy and sticky. We four really worked to get this relatively short hike to Waumbek. Even going back out on our "trail" was tough as the snow collapsed even more, with the warm weather. That being said, we all agreed that this was an awesome way to get Waumbek and plan to come back and try in another season. This is a keeper. Thanks Stinkyfeet and of course Beth, Steve and Karen.
