Comments
Comments: Great afternoon for a sunset hike... partial sunshine, no wind on the summit. Headed up at 3 PM - left snowshoes in car after speaking with folks just coming down. Well-packed trail all the way to treeline... last few tenths of a mile to the trail junction were drifted over and a bit tricky to follow. Hit summit by 4:20 and had plenty of time to kill... decided to wander over toward Eisenhower. Ridge trail is covered in drifts and is wiped out in several areas... went about a half-mile or so before turning around after post-holing a few times and finding a deep spruce trap. Great sunset from the summit of Pierce.... an easy 50-minute descent to the car.
