Comments
Comments: I made it about a mile up the trail. Met a hiker coming down who said the trail changed ahead, the packed trail stopped and postholing (3 feet deep+) was the only way to go, so he wasn't going to the shelter for the night, but heading home. I of course got a real late start at trailhead(2pm) and left my snowshoes at my vehicle to save on time/weight. Not wanting to posthole in deep crusted over snow (or at all, thankyou), and not wanting to retrieve snowshoes and come back, I turned and went back down. Trail looked good up to that point but a bit narrow (too narrow for comfortable snowshoing for me). The Kendron Flume Trail also looked the same at the start, travelled but a narrow path, mostly from barebooters here, too.
