Comments
Comments: Surface was hard and somewhat uneven for the flat part of hike. As we began to ascend there were areas of drifting, probably from Sunday snow, but able to feel trail underneath. One spot on upper Pine Bend where trail breakers went up too far, retreated and found trail again, but it was blown in when we got there so we went the wrong way first and then re-grouped successfully. There is an awesome butt slide right past this point, off trail but very easy to spot. Other great butt slides on Scaur Ridge Trail and upper section of Pine Bend. In some of the steeper spots the loose snow made footing tricky, side-stepping solved this problem. There are some very deep post holes in spots, not from us however! Great day out, blue sky, good temps and no wind!
