Thank You Mother Nature!! Left Vermont this morning at -15 degrees and thought it would be great to switch the - to a +. Worked well with a +17 reading at the trailhead. Only got better from there. Bright, blue sky, lots of warm sun, very little wind, great views and great trails!! Only one on trails today. Nicely packed trails. Microspikes used from car to the steep section. Then switched to Hillsound Pro Trail Crampons until back to top of steep section. If I could've planted my heels I think traction would've been perfect. However the steeps forced toe contact only. Haven't ever used televators before but was thinking this may have been good conditions for them. Hopefully get to find out when I upgrade my shoes. |
