road and trail to Garfield well packed. We started in spikes. Switched to snowshoes when we started to climb garfield. you could hike garfield in spikes, but snowshoes helped with some loose snow. Garfield Ridge Trail from garfield to the junction of gale river trail is tracked but not packed. very uneven; need snowshoes for this stretch. trail is packed out, with some drifting, especially over n twin. we left out snowshoes on the rest of the hike.
cold day; 5 below at the start. didn't see anyone else all day. thanks Sarah for a great day! |
