I would like to thank the dope who let his dog poop right in the middle of the trail. Dogs are only as smart as their owners. It isn't dogs that I hate, it is their owners. |

Mount Kinsman trail is a concrete sidewalk down low. Once above the first stream crossing the trail softens up a bit but a solid snowshoe track all the way to Kinsman Ridge Trail. Kinsman Ridge Trail was a minefield today with about 1-2 inches of fresh snow covering up all the postholes. Most post-holes were no more than 6 inches deep but enough to tweek the ankles every now and then. Hopefully the snowshoes on trail today can smooth it out.
It was a battle of good vs evil today on the trail as there were 8 snowshoers and 5 future post-holers (3 of which carried their snowshoes on their packs.) At one point I passed one of these FPH's on the way up and I think he hissed at me. On my way down I passed him again and he stepped off trail to let me pass and he sunk up to his thigh. He laughed maniacally and blamed me for ruining the trail for all post-holers. As I hurried past he kept yelling over and over again "WAIT UNTIL SPRING!!!"
Nice to see madmattd on the trail today. A great morning well spent. |
