For the first 2 miles pine bend brook is flat and lulls you into a false sense of security. After that i felt lime it was steep scrambles again and again and again. I wore spikes but am not sure how helpful they were. I saw two other people in crampons who liked those better. Hiking poles looked very useful--forgot those in the car. Did some sledding on the way down and was cautiously descending steep parts trying not to slide. All in all a great day out. |
