Comments
Comments: Left the base of the tram at 7:00 AM and made it to the ouverlook by 8:35 - book time. Trail to this point was packed the whole way - crampons worked fine. However, after crossing the sag and beginning the final ascent to the summit through the scrub pine, trail (and cairns) disappeared due to the drifted snow. Without snowshoes, post-holing became a major problem. About to abort summit after several failed attempts to find trail/solid footing when finally met a skier coming down and was able to follow his packed tracks up to ski trail. Do not attempt this climb without snowshoes - crampons are only fine for 90% of the way up - too much snow above tree-line.
