Comments: Started out in microspikes, but then it became obvious that snowshoes were The Right Thing so we put those on. Wore these all the way to the top and all the way back to the parking lot.

Saturday was the best winter weather I've ever experienced on Moosilauke! The wind was at our back the entire way up the Carriage Road, blowing us right to the top. The skies were very clear up there too.

...

So, there I was on the summit of Moosilauke, and everybody in my group had left ahead of me. I was putting on my facemask and goggles for the return trip down (into the wind). A group had arrived at the summit from a different trail -- this group consisted of a group of 8-10 twenty-ish men and women. Their group leader was "tie-dyed guy".

So....as I was pulling my facemask and goggles out of my pack, I heard "tie-dyed guy" say to his fellow hikers "now, I'm not saying that any of you have to do this, but I'm going to do it -- I'm going to strip completely naked".

Now I was stuck in a conundrum. What to do? I mulled over my options for around a tenth of a second and concluded that if I stuck around they probably would have thought I was "that weird guy" on the summit. So, I got out of there. As I turned to make sure I hadn't dropped anything out of the corner of my eye I noticed that one of the women was already down to her bra. I kept on walking, descending into the wind.

...

When I got home and told this story to my wife, she said "oh, dear, they wouldn't have thought you were 'that weird guy' if you had stayed to watch -- instead they would have thought you were 'that weird OLD guy'". Thanks honey!!!
