Inspired by a recent report by "Pepper and me", I decided to hike Mt. Cannon by way of the ski trails. I brought with me my Swissbob and thus needed to hike up the trails to know the the snow conditions when coming down. I wore plastic boots, which provided enough for kicking in steps in the snow. For most part I followed previous foot steps up Avalanche, then lower Cannon, middle Cannon and the Tramway trail. I did not need any traction device, though I did carry my snowshoes. Coming down with the Swissbob took just 15 minutes and it was a blast. The present conditions won't last much longer. This weekend might be the last chance.
But I don't think it will last much longer |
