Beautiful winter weekend. Trails are all snowed with over 2 feet at mid elevations. Winter wonderland. Snow is fluffy and dry. Used crampons for about half an hour between Log Cabin in Lowel trail and up Randolph until the Perch. Useless to the top and down. Israel ridge trail was unbroken with knee deep fluffy powder. We were bare boots from top to bottom. Very windy but sunny at the summit with low temperatures ans wind chill. Night at the beautiful Perch. No traces found in or out of the cabin. No need of snowshoes as snow was light as dust. |
