| Comments: |
Snowshoed all except roadwalk. Crawford Path has enough packed snow for nice snowshoe conditions or packed well enough for easy barebooting or light traction. Minimal ice encountered. Webster Cliff Tr. appeared to have no or very little traffic since Wednesdays snow. Mine were the only tracks; believe I stayed on trail and if no one else after me lots of this probably has filled in. Tricky in snowshoes going both up and down off Jackson (light traction or more may have been better). Jackson branch also packed down quite well and with lots of rock still surfacing traction would've been easier. Quite a lot of ice which had my MSR Evos slipping on occaision. Heard of at least 3 hikers who had gone on to Eisenhower so there may be a track in there. UNH group constructing a snow shelter near Mizpah as part of class. Interesting watching this. Little brisk on summits but winds and views were much better while on Jackson early afternoon. |
