8 below when started walking at 8. Easy walking thru 6-8 of unpacked powder. Less in the spruce on Mt. Cabot trail. Breezy and cold on the summit. One quite impressive drift right at the summit. Easier walking now down thru 6-8 of somewhat packed powder. Met Shipp just above Bunnel Rock. Pleasant chat. Walking even easier now. Met a party of 3 (no names) from Canterbury, NH just below Bunnel Notch. Walking even better. Met a party of 2 in another 1/2 mile. So, in summary, the trail is excellent - no rocks, no roots, ice all buried, the few steeps are still steep. |
