Parked at National Forest trailhead, but on Route 16 directly , 500 meters South of Pinkham Notch Visitor Center. Passed through tunnel |

River crossing at start was non-issue as river was frozen and underflow was slow if negligeable |

Ascent was very icy and glancing behind at the steepness convinced us not to attempt to return via this trail.Maintenance was however inpeccable |

Weather was exceptionally appropriate for these types of winter conditions. Began ascent too late in the morning but still made highest summit (D, others ). Not for weak hearted in these conditions |
