Comments
Comments: Magnificent day in the mountains. The Signal Ridge trail was well packed out with only minor fill ins from drifting. I only saw three small icy spots on the Signal Ridge trail that were easy to traverse. There were exposed rocks on a short section of Signal Ridge and in the river beds. The winter herd path leading south out of the parking area which parallels Sawyer River Road is preferable to the road hike as it affords nice views of colorful ice formations along the Sawyer River.
Saw many other hikers including an AMC group who were spending the night in the woods.
