An unexpectedly epic day! Planned to only do Jefferson but the weather held out and conditions were awesome - mostly packed trails which made for fast conditions. Wore snowshoes up Jewell, then switched to Microspikes to Jefferson. Put on Hillsounds 1 mile before Washington (lots of ice on trails but Hillsounds bit into the ice really well). Switched back to snowshoes after Eisenhower for the rest of the trip. Enjoyed hiking with Gypsy hiker Kristy. |
