Comments
Comments: Skied Zealand Rd. and then walked to hut on Thursday after work. I deemed not enough snow to ski to hut, but many were doing it this afternoon. Trail was well packed to Zealand Mountain. Someone had been out and back to Guyot, which was a huge help to me. Bondcliff tr. was completely untouched on the other hand. High drifts made breaking trail tough. I doubted I would make Bondcliff with the winds, but I decided to push for it. The winds were the worst just as I was coming down bondcliff and returning to the Bondcliff/Bond col. This made the reclimb of bond tough. Not too much ice on Bondcliff—lots of bare rock and varying snow depths. On the second pass over Guyot I knelt down to try to fix a stuck televator on my snowshoe and was literally knocked over. A struggle to get up! Good ski down the road. Thanks to all who broke trail towards Guyot, making it possible for me to do this solo.
