Comments
Comments: Glencliff + Carriage Rd. Tr. up & down. Lower elevations had very little new + old snow, trail hardpacked. Up to 3"+ new powder higher up with occasional soft & sastrugi drifts on average 6" but up to 2' & frequent blowouts along ridge crest. Last 0.25 mostly blown off. Light traction sufficient. Very little ice underfoot on the way up. Weather was much less severe than predicted. Winds were down to 15mph on summit, temps est. 0-ish or slightly below. 2 others who ascended earlier ate more wind. Extraneous: Planned on a much less ambitious Webster Slide mtn. on account of w. predictions, but C. was an evil influence on me and we did this instead.
