| Comments: |
After gate Ravine Rd had a couple of inches of snow on top of a packed base. A number of skiers seen. Gorge Brook Tr started out with 2-3 inches of powder on a packed base increasing to 3 - 4 inches above the look-out. Drifts of 6 inches in places. Above tree line packed powder and some drifting.
Saw 20+ hikers today, of that number 15 used snow shows. I chose to leave the shoes at home (big mistake) bare booted car to car. Shoes would have given better traction as well as left a better trail for others that followed. I wont leave home with-out them again this winter.
Plan A was to come down the Carriage Road / Snapper Tr but winds (30mph?) and blowing snow produced low visibility so I retreated back down Gorge Brook.
