Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All crossings were doable with extreme care. None are fully bridged yet. Some had mostly solid ice to walk across, others had some somewhat stable ice with the tops of rocks protruding while others had ice rocks and running water! We were careful and managed to keep our boots dry :)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Cedar Brook Trail is so much better when it is frozen solid and covered with snow! All trails in great shape!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I think some of the water crossings would have been a serious issue for pups today; probably would have gotten paws wet. Otherwise the trail was fine.

Comments
Comments: Still not much snow but an improvement over last week! I made the decision to carry my snowshoes with the intent of using them on the steeps up North Hancock and boy, I am so glad I did! Between the traction and the heel bars I was one happy gal! Crusty snow and some ice up North Hancock, some unconsolidated powder in the col and then some more loose powder down South Hancock. Beautiful bluebird day with frigid temps but not a hint of wind! Great day out!
