Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Little River we had to use "The log". Couldn't find any other way. A couple of the crossings on the wack to avoid the other river crossings required some care. New ice is forming, but right now it is soft, sometimes slushy and hides the rocks.

Comments
Comments: Larry B. led us on a great hike. Despite the cold, zero give or take a degree all day, the summits were beautiful and almost no wind. We used micros to the hut and up and down Galehead, then Larry and Deidra switched to snowshoes and I to crampons for the climb up S. Twin. We met Jack at the hut and he hiked with us and also used snowshoes. We kept that footwear on until almost to the river crossing when we all went back to micros. I looked 20-30 yards up and down from the log, but couldn't find a good crossing spot so we all had to shimmy on the log. There is a lot of thin ice and thick slush on the river right now that makes it very hard to see whats under it.
