Comments
Comments: Broke my Hillsounds at the trailhead so wore my real crampons up Ammo Ravine. Turned out to be the best choice given the significant ice on this trail. Once at the Hut we ran into significant deep drifting. Stayed with the crampons until midway b/w Monroe and Eisenhower when I put the snowshoes on though I could have used them earlier. There was a lot of drifting together with bare patches of rock and ice. The ridge walk entertained us with single digit ambient temps, low visibility and consistent 25-30 mph winds. After touching Eisenhower we came down Edmunds when one of my group was having health issues. The Edmunds trail was not well packed-out but less icy then many trails I have been on as of late. Snowshoes worked well. (341/576).
