Comments
Comments: Our hike started at 8:00am, with no traffic on the trail we made good time. Micro spikes worked very well today, as most of the steeper section are covered with an ice base and a few inches of new snow cover. Crampons would have worked too, but maybe a little over kill for this hike. The trail in the trees was well marked with blue trail markings on the trees and rocks. Light snow was falling all morning which limited our views. Once we got above the tree line the trail was not as obvious. Serpentine between some big boulders on our approach to the observation tower we just followed the rut in the snow left from previous hikers. As we got closer to the top the hike was a little eerie as we never saw the tower until we were right under it. A good short winter hike
