Turned out to be a much better day than anticipated. Clouds were well above Carragain summit until I got to within 1 mile of the ridge by which time I was in a very bright snow cloud-quite nice. Snow shoes from car to car today with beautiful packed trails that had from 2-4 inches of fresh snow in them, increasing as I ascended.I followed another hiker and his dog (Collin (?) and Lunar) who was also in shoes all day. Coming off the ridge I was passed by two more young men in shoes so the trail should be in excellent condition if you can handle the cold temps coming in... |
