Snowing pretty good most of the time I was out. A couple new inches of snow over icy crust the entire trail. Snowshoes not needed at any point. Started in microspikes, and switched to crampons halfway up, which I wore the rest of the day. Lots of others on the trail today. Everyone else had either microspikes or full crampons, which made for better traction, but would have been manageable even in bare boots. Fast going and mild temps made for a really fantastic day on the trail. |
