Comments
Comments: the weather was great and the winds light. We expected snow after 10:00 but instead had a lot of sun. The trail started out with a little ice but mostly granulated ice and snow. Above tree line there was a lot of new snow but still not really good enough for snowshoes. If they get some new snow then maybe you could use them. You still needed to use your poles as probes for holes by rocks that were not visible. a few spots of ice under snow but over all not bad. Bill barebooted the whole way, I wore hillsounds. Although it looked like you could take a shortcut in a couple of places, Bill wanted to break out the actual trail to the gulfside sign.
