Comments
Comments: Had a great day despite the total lack of views and the constant, rain, freezing rain and snow. Great group. Trail conditions were good for microspikes and Hillsounds most of the way. One of our group used microspikes for the whole hike while the rest of us used crampons for some. The water crossings were easy with the water levels fairly low, which was a surprise. The 2-5" of snow on top of the ice helped with the footing, and the winds were very light. Snowshoes would have worked in sections, but were not needed. The "Hillary Step" was very doable.
