Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We had the parking lot to ourselves... guess no one else wanted to get wet today!

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Many many water crossings! All were manageable with rock hops and logs. The third water crossing of North Fork on Cedar Brook we bushwacked a bit up stream to cross more easily.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several trees down but all were small.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The .7 and .5 up Hancock Loop Trail were extremely icey. I would only bring my pup if he was used to and capable of steep ice slopes.

Comments
Comments: Got a little wet today! Everything was in good shape, lots and lots of water everywhere. The Hancock Loop we went up north and down south - a good decision for us as I am a slow descender of ice. I bushwacked in several spots to avoid some of the very steep ice slides going down south. We made good time on everything (4.5 hours total) though the ascent and descent slowed us. I would recommend crampons, especially if you go up south as that was sheer ice covered with a sticky snow. Hoping the snow today (the rain changed to snow as we increased elevation) will help the trails recover from being all ice. We wore microspikes car to car but would have definitely switched over to crampons had we had them (rented some K-10s to try out after today's hike).
