| Comments: |
Winter seems to have gone. Road was almost bare and trail up to the crossings was too. Put on hillsounds about .5 mile past the water crossings and left on until the same place on return. Trail from there on is alternating sections of ice flow and packed, icy snow. Up high more of the latter. Was a quick hike with the hillsounds which bit into the soft ice beautifully. A bit cold on top after 10 minutes with a 20-30 mph wind. Don't recall seeing so little snow this late in the season. None on the trees and summit of Garfield is completely bare and devoid even of ice... |
