Comments
Comments: hard pack, started with microspikes and switched to snowshoes after Mt Surprise but it was a short snow drift section only and then back to hard pack so I don't think snow shoes were necessary (but once on I don't bother to take them off). Lots of steep ice, not fun descending in snowshoes and, personally, I think crampons would be far more appropriate for those sections, but I didn't use them and survived my slips and falls.
