Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No blowdowns. Some ice bulges in the usual spots.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Easy day for Pepper with a well packed trail. I suppose one could get the paw pads a bit sticky on a couple of the ice bulges which are still wet but Pepper was fine. We met one other dog, Denali, who was having fun. Pepper doesn't mind the wind much, so today it wasn't a factor.
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found two Patagonia mittens on the ridge. They had a lot of tears in the fingers seams so I left them at the kiosk at the Glencliff TH in case they have sentimental value.

Comments
Comments: This was a last minute decision hike, and it was splendid. The trail had been well packed yesterday, and provided excellent traction today. It could use some more snow for better coverage of rocks in places. It could be barebooted, although when I went up my MSRs provided the best traction, and most hikers we met were using them, a couple were in microspikes, and two guys came up the Carriage Path on skis. I expected we would see more hikers given the mild day .and relatively light winds on the summit. It was so different from yesterday's hike in so many ways. Pepper's 700th 4K.
