Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at the end of Little River Road, plowed fine but icy. Some work being done on the other side of the snowmobile bridge, not sure what but we saw a couple trucks drive over there in the morning.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Black, Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The brook shortly before the FireWardens Trail was partially bridged, enough to cross on. Lots of small open seeps that weren't hard to cross.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The short part of the North Twin Trail is fine, we moves one small blowdown off trail. The herd path/old trail from Little River Road to the North Twin Trail was quite overgrown in 2 stretches in the middle, felt like a Bushwhack with branches in the face and such. FireWardens Trail good to go.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Should be fine for dogs.
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found 41 cents in the trail near the North Twin Trailhead. Ironically a New Hampshire quarter in there.

Comments
Comments: Very little new snow down low on top of an icy mess, small increase in depth as elevation gained, eventually we put snowshoes on partway up the bitch glades. Snow depth increased to about 8" until the very summit which had about 12" of new snow from Sunday. A set of bareboot prints continued on Lend-a-Hand, that must have been tough work....Some traffic from Hale Brook, we didn't investigate further.

A slow climb for us after a tough day on Isolation yesterday, but it was still a good day out, and we even got a little sunshine on top. Thankfully we didn't have to break trail as someone did that yesterday, though a barebooter beat up the trench some up top (all good now though!) Probably not enough snow in the glades for skiing yet, no sign of ski tracks yet. Far cry from the top-to-bottom 12" we saw on Isolation. Thanks Chris and Whitney for a nice day, and congrats to Whitney for another winter checkmark.
