Parking wasn't plowed to it's fullest extent, this wasn't a problem until I returned and 700 people had parked around me. |

Kali had a blast, some issues with snow balls, but that is par for the course. She loves meeting dog lovers on the trail! |

Found a glove on the F'n J and left it on a log, hopefully the owner finds it. |

Wicked cold morning. -2 when I left the house and 0 at the trail head. Time to test some gear! F'n J is always a trail of trial. He doesn't just hit the ridge like Lonesome Lake or Hi Cannon, no Jimmy likes to play around down low and give you lots of warm up before assaulting the ridge. Up and down, and around we went, and then bam! we were at the junction. Then it is the same story on the KRT, up and down! What a great way to stay warm! Lot's and lot's of people on the trails on my way back down. It was cold enough to keep the bare boot police at bay. The trails are firm with some minor divots from the post hole association. Doesn't that make the work harder? Am I a sissy for wearing snow shoes? The ice was here and there under the snow making my MSR lightenings a darn good choice for traction. Happy New Year to all.
