Comments: Snowshoes (MSR) were the right tool for the day, and we used them car-to-car. Someone bare-booted to Surprise, but then didn't make it much farther due to post holing. 4-6" of wet snow below Surprise with 6-10" (deeper drifts) to Moriah. Temps started at 34, down to 15 by the time we returned (wet snow had consolidated by the time we were hiking down)
