| Comments: |
Light covering of snow on the logging roads up to the Bald Knob spur Tr. Ice bulges begin shortly above this point. Microspikes worked on the way up this section, but we were glad to have crampons on the way down. Kinsman Ridge Trail has significant flow ice in the treadway, microspikes were ok on the way up, but crampons were very helpful on the way down. There is a section of snow drifting in between the peaks, but not enough to warrant swapping out for snowshoes, as it was well packed with all the traffic. We swapped to crampons at South Twin, and wore them all the way to Bald Knob spur, and very glad we did |
