Nice hike to the summit although there was no visibility to speak of due to cloud cover. The trail up and down keep you on your toes with the packed snow over ice conditions. Would recommend crampons to someone who is not very steady on their feet. I wore micro-spikes and used my trek poles and was able to ok, although I slipped a couple of times descending and fell. Most likely would not have slipped at all if I used my crampons on the way down. Met a lot of hikers today and they were awesome, especially Steve and Joe a couple of snowboarders. |
