| Comments: |
As I headed up the trail two hikers came down. After ten minutes on the trail they decided, wisely, that their microspikes were not adequate and their dogs was sliding backwards. I was glad for the Hillsounds. With careful foot placing they were adequate. For the downhill, however, I did put on my six-pointer crampons I had sharpened the day before and I was glad for that. With the accumulating snow it was hard to place the hiking poles without them sliding out under me. Crampons are the choice for this trail, particularly in the glades. |
