| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking lot was plowed and was icy but did not have any problem as I put on the micro-spikes before getting out of the car. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction, Ice Axe |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The lower water crossings on the Sabbaday were ice and snow bridged and dry. The upper water crossings were dry and easy to cross. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The upper part of the Sabbaday to the end of the last brook crossing has enough blow downs to warrant a little chainsaw action. The Tripyramid Peaks could use a good pruning as well as the peak views are very limited and are overgrown. |

| Comments: |
Once I crossed the brook for the last time there trail was no longer hard pack by snowshoes traffic. At that point the Sabbaday Brook trail consisted of loose granular snow and broke trail to the top of saddle at the junction of Pine Bend Brook Trail. Climbing the face to the saddle was awesome as the snow was hard packed enough to get a good grip without slipping and was able to make use my new ice ax as well while ascending and descending. Met a couple of hikers on their way down just before I reached the Pine Bend Brook Trail. |
