| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We found plenty of parking at the Waterville Valley Ski Resort |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow - Drifts |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Both stream crossings were easily crossable: rock hopping on the first, the second was mostly ice bridged. On the 2nd crossing use caution with warmer weather as ice looked soft in a couple of spots. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
No blowdowns, the trail is in a good shape |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Our Airedale pup had a ball rolling in the fresh snow, almost turned into a polar bear. |

| Lost and Found: |
Lost a pair of brand new women's Tubbs Alp Flex snowshoes (blue/black). The buckle attaching them to my backpack got loose, and they slid out from the pack as I was butt sledding down the trail. It must have happened on the steep section, shortly after the Sosman trail sign and after I met a pair of 2 men heading for the summit. Hope they picked them up and will contact me at innaradzi@yahoo.com. Need them to resume my Winter 48 list! |
