Nice morning hike with snow falling and covering our tracks as we walked. Not enough snow yet to make snowshoes useful. Some ice hidden under a couple inches of fluff. We stayed in microspikes the whole way. Ice was still slick in the micros, but the exposed rocks and roots would have made crampons even more dangerous, in my opinion. Didn't see any other hikers. Snow guns going like crazy at Waterville Valley. Thank you, Mark, for a good day out! |
