Dylan was a champ as usual, though he had trouble both up and down some icy steep slabs. He bushwhacked some, and needed help on others. (Thanks Jimmy!) |

The trail was fine up until the last about half mile, and then it became a pretty challenging combination of steep and icy. Our plan for the day was to do Middle and North, however one of my microspikes broke (link in one of the little chains from rubber to spikes below; i think fixable, but made it lose grip on my shoe and was giving up and falling off), so we opted to turn back after North, and allow extra time for descent over ice. It was a challenge. Which brings me to a question: do you carry any microspikes repair kits or tools, or a back up? What should i have done to be better prepared? Feel free to shoot me a note, will appreciate advice. |
