Comments
Comments: Ice was the story today starting with black ice at the parking lot. We used spikes to get to Liberty but as soon as we started to descend to Flume we switched to crampons. Stayed in crampons to Flume and back to below the tent site where we switched back to spikes. Some people were only using spikes which was possible with much caution. The ribbon of ice started before the brook and continued all the way throughout. Based on trip reports from yesterday I was glad we carried crampons which gave far more purchase. No views to speak of today. Congrats to BillC for 335 of 576.
