| Comments: |
ICE, ICE, ICE. It was very icy going up to Jackson with a skim coat of ice on the rocks. They looked like dry rocks but had a slick coating of ice that microspikes couldn't handle. Then going down toward Mizpah hut was really treacherous. The majority of the trails today had ice in the middle and as wide as the trail. Steep sections had thicker ice. Pierce wasn't as bad as Jackson but there was still plenty of ice and running water over the ice. I sure wish I had my crampons with me. |
