Comments: Great undercast day on Lafayette. Started up at 11 AM. In the clouds up to the Agony Ridge viewpoints, then in and out of the clouds until Greenleaf hut. Slippery dike (as well as the other ledgy pitches) at the top of the Agonies was much better than I expected - ice was crusty and there were plenty of rocks to provide additional purchase. Greenleaf to Lafayette summit had only a few ice flows in the col near Eagle Lake, also easy to navigate. The mile up to the summit easy to follow, minor ice, plenty of exposed rocks and no more than a few inches of snow drifted in spots. Very windy on the ridge! Great hike with a beautiful undercast North and West. Decided to forego the rest of the ridge and head back, rather than navigate Falling Waters by headlamp. Awesome sunset on the descent.
