| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The small parking area right at the York Pond TH is easily accessible.
Most of York Pond Road is pure ice. Very, very slippery! |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Ice - Black, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Ice - Blue |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
A few are bridged. Most have open water. All are easy to cross. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Sections of the lower part of Bunnell Notch are getting quite over-grown. Not a problem now but will be tedious to deal with when the growing season resumes. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
No issues. Water is available at the streams. Crossings are easy. Minimal ice. Great day for Cinnilla. Signs of several other dogs on trail earlier (probably the day before). So, she was on "detective" work the entire hike. |

| Comments: |
Excellent trail-conditions for this time of year. Georg, Cinnilla and I had an easy and pleasant day today. Georg bare-booted all the way. I used micro-spikes during most of the descent.
Some tracks continuing south on the Kilkenny Ridge from the Bunnell Notch Jct. |
