Comments
Comments: What a great day! Trail covered in snow and ice - streams frozen over. Temp was 18F at Rt. 302 at 11:00 AM, not much lower on the summit a couple of hours later. Clear weather - spectacular views. Mt. Washington could be seen clearly; very majestic! Microspikes and ski poles worked great all day. Ice on the summit cone of Jackson made it interesting, but was doable with Microspikes only. There were also the usual people hiking in tennis shoes and bluejeans. Trail was very slippery for that. Also heard about a search for a missing hiker between Lakes of the Clouds and Lion's Head - I hope it turned out well.
