Lost and Found: I lost a pair of Under Armour over mitts that were returned to me by a very nice couple. I found a rubber traction thingie and hung it from a tree at or about the first switchback.

Comments
Comments: What an amazing day to hike good ole Garfield. I didn't need it for my grid but Kali did so off we went. 1 degree in the parking lot when we got out of the car. Brr. Up we went. The first water crossing, which is the dirty double crosser, is easy to avoid by staying to the left of the water and coming out on the snowmobile trail and then taking a right back to the Mt. Garfield Trail. The second, not so lucky, in you go. This was the only place I used spikes and it was to get across the water on the soon to be snow bridges. Not so bad. At the junction I donned my layers and headed up. I was concentrating on not overheating and keeping covered when I broke out on the rock up top in time to see a big snowy white owl see me and then take off. The bird was SO BIG that it looked like it was in slow motion as it pumped its wings and took off. I was just counting my blessings and thinking how I would never take a gorgeous day like today for granted and then I was rewarded with this. Mother nature is an amazing woman. Thank you.
